Asbestos can be deadly depending on the amount a person inhales and the time period in which they in hale it at. Here are some little known facts on asbestos that most people seem to never take notice at. These clear up the fact on how asbestos became so widely used throughout the world.

Asbestos has been used for centuries; even during the roman and Greek times this material has been used. That might account be the reason why the mortality rate at those times was so low, they were consistently being exposed to this dangerous material. Although they did not know the material and how it came to affect them they still understood it was “poisonous” to a degree since they tried to stop using it after some time.

3 types of Asbestos were used to make different thing such as houses, chimneys, tiles, insulation and brake pads. They were colored brown, blue and white. The worst one and most deadly one being blue. Blue and brown are outlawed in all countries and white is as well except for Australia.

In the 1900’s many people decided to use Asbestos because of how cheap, efficient and durable it was. Even after the discovery that asbestos caused problems with people’s lungs it was not until the government took action did use of asbestos stop. Asbestos is strong, light, cheap, resistant to fungi, fire resistant and ect, all the more reasons whey this material experienced so widespread usage.

The asbestos that you can see are not the kinds that will harm you, they will be caught by your cilia’s in your lungs, which will lead coughing or mucus. On the flip side of that, asbestos that you cannot see can start to do some serious damage to your lungs if you keep on breathing in the material. See how asbestos damages you.
